365 Retail Markets Partners with ColdSnap to Bring On-Demand Frozen Treats to Micro Markets Nationwide

365 Retail Markets and ColdSnap have entered a multi-year partnership to bring on-demand frozen treat machines to micro markets nationwide, giving operators across 365's customer network access to a high-margin category that was previously out of reach for unattended retail. ColdSnap's patented system freezes shelf-stable, room-temperature pods into ice cream, smoothies, frozen lattes, protein shakes and other treats in about two minutes. Because the product never touches the machine, the equipment requires no cleaning, plumbing or cold storage, making frozen treats feasible in workplaces, hospitals, college campuses, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers that cannot support traditional frozen equipment. "This partnership puts ColdSnap into thousands of new micro markets, giving operators a high-margin category they've never had access to before," Matthew Fonte, founder and CEO of ColdSnap, said in the announcement. "ColdSnap gives them access to a high-demand category that was previously out of reach for unattended retail, and our infrastructure means we can bring it to thousands of locations quickly," said Jeff Dumbrell, chief revenue officer at 365 Retail Markets. For operators, the economics are the story: pods ship and store at room temperature and are frozen only at the moment of purchase, so a frozen menu can be added without the cold-chain costs or freezer infrastructure that traditionally kept frozen desserts out of unattended locations. 365, which supports nearly 40,000 operators nationwide following its May 2026 acquisition of Cantaloupe, plans to roll the machines out across its network over the course of the agreement.
