Denver's Charitable Giving Machines Return for the Holiday Season

Charitable giving vending machines will return to Denver's Cherry Creek North shopping district on Nov. 19, offering holiday shoppers an interactive way to support nonprofit organizations. The Giving Machines will be installed at the entrance to the Cherry Creek Holiday Market at Second Avenue and Fillmore Plaza, where they will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to a Glendale Cherry Creek Chronicle report. Sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Giving Machines have expanded to more than 100 cities worldwide since their introduction in 2017 and raised more than $70 million in 2025. Unlike conventional vending machines, they let donors purchase items for people in need rather than receive merchandise themselves: shoppers select a product or service displayed on the machine, complete a payment and direct the contribution to a participating charity. Selections can include meals, blankets, livestock and other necessities benefiting local and international organizations. For operators, the program is a high-profile example of vending hardware's flexibility, turning machines into donation points in high-traffic holiday retail settings where around-the-clock availability extends giving well past shop hours.
